Sacramento County Department of Airports today celebrated the grand opening of Café Bernardo in Concourse B at Sacramento International Airport (SMF), marking another milestone in the airport’s ongoing effort to bring authentic, locally rooted dining experiences to travelers.
The opening is part of SMF's broader concessions modernization program, which introduced a new lineup of local dining and retail concepts throughout the airport. This location was developed in partnership with HMSHost by Avolta and Paragary Restaurant Group.
“Sacramento has a food culture worth celebrating, and we want travelers to experience it the moment they arrive or before they depart,” said Harry Barrett Jr., Assistant Director of Airports for Sacramento County. “Café Bernardo is exactly the kind of local, quality-driven concept that reflects who we are as a community.”
A cornerstone of Sacramento’s Paragary Restaurant Group, Café Bernardo has been a beloved regional dining destination for more than 25 years. Known for its seasonal farm-to-fork menu, welcoming atmosphere, and European-inspired café experience, the concept brings a distinct Sacramento flavor to the airport. The SMF location will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring house-made offerings and fresh, locally sourced ingredients that showcase the region’s celebrated farm-to-fork heritage. Restaurant goers can expect Cafe Bernardo favorites from their flagship like kale caesar salad and carrot cake cookies.
“After years of planning and preparation, we are thrilled to finally begin serving guests at Café Bernardo in the Sacramento International Airport,” said Stacy Paragary of Paragary Restaurant Group. “It is a privilege to be among a select group of restaurants representing the best of what the Farm to Fork Capitol has to offer. We thank our partners, HMSHost by Avolta and the Airport’s leadership team, for their part in making Café Bernardo a reality. We look forward to many years of making our local air travel a little more pleasurable.”
Café Bernardo at SMF is located post-security in Concourse B and is open to ticketed passengers. For more information about dining at Sacramento International Airport, visit flysmf.gov.
